REMOVAL OF ASBESTOS-CONTAINING MATERIALS
The word “asbestos” refers to six fibrous natural minerals from the serpentinite (chrysotile asbestos) and amphibole (actinolite, amosite, anthophyllite, crocidolite, and tremolite) group.
From 1878 through the 1970s, asbestos was actively used in industry all over the world. Due to the high heat resistance and adsorption properties of unbound fibers, tensile strength, and chemical fire resistance with low electrical conductivity, asbestos was applied in 3,000 types of products. Asbestos fibers were added to construction mixes to improve the strength and fire resistance of construction materials.
In the 1970s, asbestos was recognized as hazardous and included in the list of Category 1 carcinogens, as per the classification of the International Agency for Research on Cancer. It was discovered that asbestos-containing dust generated during asbestos production and enrichment, as well as during disposal (dismantling) of asbestos-containing products was hazardous for human health.
In 2005, use of asbestos was completely banned in 63 countries. Programs on abandoning asbestos and asbestos-containing materials were developed and are being actively implemented.
Reforma Group is ready to offer its services on asbestos disposal even now and requires no additional resources to develop a method and process of removing asbestos-containing materials. For the customer, this means quality, short lead time, and adequate cost.
